North Carolina Department of Commerce

301 North Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27601

Dedicated to enhancing economic prosperity and the overall well-being of North Carolinians, the North Carolina Department of Commerce collaborates extensively with local, regional, national, and international entities. Our mission is to drive economic, community, and workforce development initiatives across the state. In pursuit of this mission, we partner with the non-profit Southeastern Wind Coalition, the American Clean Power Association, and the Clean Energy Technology Center at N.C. State University to publish a supply chain map. This map serves to better connect companies and facilities in the state and region that currently supply or could supply products and services to the wind energy industry, including both land-based and offshore projects.

As the vital link between businesses and the essential resources they require to flourish within one of the nation's premier business destinations, NC Commerce is responsible for forming and nurturing advanced manufacturing and other relevant industry partnerships crucial to the CLEANCarolinas Type 1 Developmental Engine. Whether it's connecting businesses with optimal site locations, skilled workforce, or robust infrastructure, we pave the way for success.   Furthermore, we empower local communities by facilitating access to grants and funding necessary for attracting new businesses, fostering growth, and ensuring sustained prosperity.

At the forefront of our commitment to a sustainable future, the Office of Clean Energy Economic Development within NC Commerce spearheads North Carolina's transition towards a cleaner energy landscape. As a pivotal partner in CLEANcarolinas, we collaborate with energy providers, governmental bodies, industry leaders, ratepayers, educators, and various stakeholders. Together, we are forging a globally competitive innovation hub that not only advances clean energy solutions but also drives economic development throughout the Carolinas.
